County Executive - Jason T. Garnar
Welcome to the Office of the County Executive!
Born and raised in Greene, NY, Jason Garnar has dedicated his life to public service in Upstate New York. After attending Broome Community College and Binghamton University, he served 15 years as an American History teacher for at risk youth. He returned to Binghamton as Director of Public Communications at Family Planning of South Central New York. He was elected in 2006 to represent Downtown, parts of First Ward, Northside, and Eastside of Binghamton and part of the Town of Dickinson on the Broome County Legislature. In 2016, he successfully ran for County Executive on a platform to focus on the issues and rededicate County government to its residents.
As County Executive, Jason’s top priorities are County finances, workforce development, and fighting the heroin epidemic. He loves the New York Mets, meeting and talking with Broome County residents, and spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their three boys, Nolan, Miles, and Ben.
