  Director, Office For Aging

Broome County is currently searching for a dynamic, innovative and experienced person to fill the position of Director, Office For Aging.  This is a lead administrative position for the local government agency responsible for directing services and activities offered by the Office For Aging. Duties include planning, coordination and directing various services, programs and activities of a municipal Office For Aging.  The work is performed under general administrative direction of the County Executive and County Legislature in conformance with local, State and Federal laws and regulations with great flexibility allowed in administering the overall program.  Supervision is exercised over the work of clerical and professional staff.

Candidates must meet the following Minimum Qualifications: Either:

A. A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, with major work in social or behavioral sciences, public health, public administration, recreation education, or related fields and two (2) years of full-time paid administrative experience in community organization, human service or field of aging;        OR

B. A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, with major work in social or behavioral sciences, public health, public administration, recreation education, or related fields and four (4) years of full-time paid administrative experience in community organization, human service or field of aging;                OR

C. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A) and B) above.
